So this weekend was pretty sweet. I went up to Norman Friday morning to go to an AP conference. I got to go with a good friend of my from school, and we had a blast. We stayed in Norman for the night and went to The Mont and had a yummy dinner and then played spades in our hotel room with some fellow teachers. It was so fun, and also nice to have some time away from all responsibilites. I also splurged at a little specialty clothing store and bought an adorable top. I was ready to be home by the time I got here Saturday afternoon, and then we went to Jeni's (my sis-in-law) 30th birthday party. She seemed to really enjoy it and it was nice to gather with our fam. Today, Michael, me, and Jack went to the aquarium, and he was finally old enough to reallllly LOVE it! It was a blast. We saw all sorts of critters and then had lunch at Tin Star. I just really enjoyed spending time with my son and husband. Jackson and I just got back an hour or so ago from my parents' house, and we had lots of fun with our new bubble blower and with Papa pulling him around in the wagon! Gramma got some good Jack, or "ack" (as he likes to call himself) time in as well. I am so proud of that little guy. He has learned how to say sooo many things in the past week. Uh-oh, otay (okay), shish (fish), Ack (Jack), etc. He's getting to be more fun everyday! It's so nice when he feels good and has no ear infections, he's like a different kiddo. Have a lovely night, and I'll leave you with some aquarium pics. :)

Ear Infection #5 since December
There are so many things that go through my mind in a day, that I thought it would be nice to have an outlet for my thoughts. Hence, the creation of this blog. I'm struggling right now. It's been a long 2 weeks. It just seems that no matter what I do at school, I still don't feel like it's enough...but that's teaching, I guess. Also, Jackson is on ear infection #5 since December. It's so sad because he has had this on top of a stomach bug that I gave him this week. I just wish, as a mom, there was some magic switch I could hit and make him better. I hate to see him sick, and I blame myself because I have to have him in daycare. He's facing possible surgery (ear tubes) if this ear infection/fluid doesn't clear up this time. I feel like it's my fault because I can't stay at home with him. Anyway...Jackson is such a joy. Beyond a joy. I don't like to brag, but this kid, even when he's sick is all smiles and giggles. I know I'm one of the lucky mamas because I worked in a daycare for almost 7 years, and I've seen an array of kiddos. I just love him and I want his health to improve without surgery. Other facets of life are pretty good too. Michael and I are doing pretty well after having a trying few months up until around December. We're really working on different aspects of our relationship, and we are falling in love all over again. Well, I guess I'll stop there for the night. I need to go hang with the hubster and my Jacks. Keep it classy, my friends. Until next time.
